The Big LeBowski Group is composed of retired entrepreneurs or executives, who may be interested in angel investing for reasons that go beyond pure monetary return. These include wanting to keep abreast of current developments in a particular business arena, mentoring another generation of entrepreneurs, and making use of their experience and networks on a less than full-time basis
Our mission is to make the world a better place for entrepreneurs, and to have a deep and lasting impact on those with whom we work. We believe the democratization of entrepreneurship is a powerful force for global good.
Capital Efficiency
More venture; less capital. We strive to take bolder risks earlier. Often, these don’t require “big” dollars, and in our experience, too much capital early on can constrain creativity.
fund Size
We are focused on what we see as the most promising stage of entrepreneurial creativity and return potential: seed and Series A. With approximately $900 million under management to invest at these levels.
7x24 Support
We discovered through our history and our customer base that the types of ``helpdesk`` calls that come in are often related to start-ups issues. We are able to accomplish more with less headcount at least under our model.

A strong partnership
We strive to invest in Founders of movements and products that capture the imagination.
If you are backed by The Big LeBowski Group, it means you have what it takes to build a world-class, category-defining business. Each of our entrepreneurs is unique, yet all demonstrate the necessary character, courage and scrappiness to make pioneering strides into a new technology or market. When it comes to education, experience or credentials, there is no prototypical Angel entrepreneur. Our founders are elite in their area of expertise regardless of whether they are college-dropouts or serial startup veterans. They understand what is best for their business like no one else can, but also have the self-awareness to leverage outside resources for additional support.
Who We Are
The Big LeBowski Group commands more than three decades of experience building and supporting hundreds of startups and growth-stage technology companies. We are a diverse yet intimate group of individuals who believe in treating each other—and our entrepreneurs—as peers in an open, honest, welcoming environment. We take inspiration from the 19th century French chemist Louis Pasteur, who put it eloquently when he said, “Chance favors the prepared mind.” We credit our thesis-driven, “prepared mind” approach for our success in investing. We invest in promising entrepreneurs who take risks to build tech they believe in. These are the hallmarks of exceptional entrepreneurs. For over 30 years, we’ve seen the impact that small groups of talented individuals can have.
